My Other Boys

Here are the other 3 boys in my life (boys that I work with).
This is Dylan. He's my morning boy. What a sweetie he is. He reminds me a lot of Jaylin at that age but he's a lot more verbal. He is a love bug like Jaylin. I adore him. He's such a great kid.
Here are my twins. Zeek (left) and Quan (right). They are my afternoon boys. I call them Zeekie Poo and Quanie Quan. Zeek loves to be called Zeekie Poo and most days is yelling it as soon as he spots me. Quan has to be in the mood for me to call him Quanie Quan. If he's not he yells "NOT QUANIE QUAN". I adore these two more than words can describe. They are such great kids. I love this picture. It is going in a frame in my apartment. I have been trying for weeks to get a good picture of the two of them together and was finally successful.

New bedding

My mom bought me a queen size pillowtap mattress and boxspring for my birthday. I have been using my comforter from my old bed (full) and a sheet set that was given to me. So I decided that it was about time that I got myself a new bedding set. I love polka dots so when I saw this one on jcp.com I feel in love and called the store to see if they had it in the store. They did so I put it on hold and picked it up this morning. I love it. I haven't slept in it yet but of course Jaylin tested it out before I could. As I'm typing this, he is laying in my bed under my covers.

Haircut

After bowling, I took Jaylin to get a much needed haircut. Its amazing how far he has come with getting his haircut. When he was younger, he was so afraid that it took two of take him to get a cut. My mom would come with me and one of us with hold him in our lap while the other one held his head. That lasted for a year or two. Then I was able to take him by myself but would have to talk him through it and stay right by his side. For the longest time we went to this lady Tammy and the consistency of the same person made him comfortable with it but he still wanted me to stand next to him. Now I am lucky and am able to take him to Randy's Hair Safari (great, $5 place with the nicest people). He doesn't always have the same person when we go there but he's okay with that.

Today for the first time I sat in the waiting area the whole time. Normally, I would stand next to him or sit in another hair chair so he knew I was there. Today I just felt like I should try to see how he would do without me there. He did a fantastic job. He was overjoyed at the end when Randy handed him 2 lollipops.

Happy Birthday Uncle Rick

We met my mom, stepdad, and Rick at Chili's tonight to celebrate my brother's birthday. Jaylin was very excited to see Uncle Rick because he hasnt seen him since we moved. They are very close and we have always lived together so a month was a long time for Jaylin not to see him. It was nice to sit down and have a nice dinner with my family. They are busy with their jobs and the cheer gym so we don't get as much time together as we would like. We get to do it again next Saturday but this time we are celebrating Jaylin's birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE RICK.....we love you!!!

Happy Birthday Song

Last year my mom bought Jaylin a piano for his birthday. With the help of Miss Launt, music teacher at Rox Middle, Jaylin was able to learn how to play "The Simpsons" theme song. Since then he has also taught himself how to play "Jingle Bells", "You are my Sunshine", and the beginning part of LL Cool J's "I Need Love".

Next Sunday, Familycapped is having a talent show and I signed Jaylin up to play piano. It is also Jaylin's 14th birthday so I thought it would be cool if he played "Happy Birthday". So I googled "someone playing happy birthday on piano". I called Jaylin over to my computer and he watched (it was like a 1 1/2 minute clip). I asked him if he thought he could play it. He told me yes and proceeded into his bedroom. He experimented on his keyboard for a minute (his piano is still at my mom's house, we are going to have to hire someone professional to move it). He looked at me, smiled, and played it. I am amazed. My brother's birthday is Saturday so I think I am going to have him play it for him. I can't wait to see him play in the talent show next weekend.

Dinner with Grandpa and Harriett

Earlier this week I received a phone call from my Grandfather inviting Jaylin and I to come have dinner with him and his girlfriend, Harriett. Normally we only see them on the holidays and the rest of the family is there as well so I was surprised that he just wanted to have dinner with just us. We went over and had a nice dinner with them. Jaylin was loving the pasta with sausage and meatballs.

High Score

This morning Jaylin beat his high bowling score. Before this morning it was 130. This morning his score was 134. He had 2 strikes and a ton of spares. I think there was only 2-3 frames that didn't have a strike or a spare. They announced his name since his score was over 100.

Little Red Riding Hood

This afternoon we went to Spaghetti Warehouse to watch Little Red Riding Hood. Familycapped sponsored the event. The show was really cute and interactive. Jaylin enjoyed the wolf. After the show we stayed for a late lunch with a bunch of friends. They have this deal where you can get soap or salad, choose from 4 appetizers, 4 pasta dishes, and 3 desserts. So we both got italian wedding soup but Jaylin picked at his, mozzerella sticks, Jaylin got spaghetti and meatballs, I got lasagna which was fantastic, and we both got a piece of cake for dessert. I am still stuffed 6 hours later. We will definitely be doing the show and a lunch again.

Hope Network's Spa Day

Hope Network is a faith based group that helps families of people with disabilities. Today they sponsored a Spa Day for the moms. I went last year and had a great time so I was looking forward to going again this year. I met up with my two friends, Lisa and Dee, plus there were a bunch of other moms I knew. Lisa, Dee, and I started off at the Mary Kay table where we did facials and applied makeup. I left them to go get my scheduled manicure and met back up with Lisa afterwards to get our scheduled pedicures. Of course my fingers and toes had to be the same color. I'm hoping this color brings some warmer weather but I'm doubting it since we do live in Syracuse. After pedicures I sat down for brunch with Lisa, Dee, Alice, and Pat. After lunch, I went to get my eyebrows waxed, a parrafin dip, and ended with a 15 minute chair massage. I was definitely relaxed and enjoying myself =). They gave away door prizes and I won a black picture frame that says "live" across the top and a complimentary night stay at Hampton Inn.

Bounce House

Last night we went to a carnival/information night that Familycapped sponsored. Jaylin had a lot of fun jumping in the bounce house. We saw a lot of our friends that we haven't seen in a couple weeks since our bowling league has been cancelled for two weeks because of tournaments. We missed everyone so it was nice to catch up.
Of course Jaylin had to sit in there to test how it felt lol

Apartment

This weekend we were able to finally make the move that we have been looking to do for along time. We finally have a place of our own. I am so thankful for my Mom wanting us to stay with her as long as we have. I wouldn't have been as available to Jaylin as I felt I needed to be if I didn't stay at home. I paid rent and took care of all our needs but of course it was cheaper to live at home. We were very fortunate to have a little apartment in the basement of my Mom's house.

I had to get a bigger truck than I was planning on getting so we were able to get everything moved in one load. My Mom bought me a queen sized pillowtop boxspring and mattress for my birthday present. It is sooooo comfy.

We started staying here Saturday night. Jaylin was a little confused the first night but loves it. Funny thing is right on our entrance door there is a sign that says "no pets". Jaylin is terrified of cats and dogs also very allergic to both as well. So it was reassuring to him to see that sign. He loves that he has a door he can close when he wants privacy. I am excited for the independence that he is going to have.

I plan on taking more pictures when everything is unpacked and we can put some personal touches to the rest of the place.
